We are looking for you,


Sustainability Manager


to our Sustainability Asia-Pacific Team in Singapore as a corporate level function with sustainability professionals based in Singapore, Espoo, Shanghai, Mumbai, Melbourne and Houston. The team is responsible for managing sustainability related strategic initiatives and implementing sustainability into our business.


You will focus on managing a wide range of renewable feedstock sustainability issues, including raw material value chains, risk identification & management as well as execution of company strategy for market acceptance and compliance within the Asia-Pacific Region. In the execution of this strategy rely heavily on engagement and networking skills to convince and liaise with relevant stakeholders, to improve supply chain sustainability, traceability and reputation towards ensuring good feedstock image. This involves managing strategic campaigns, strengthening regulatory tools to enable such improvement within the sourcing area.


In this job you will work closely with but not limited to the sourcing team in charge of the purchasing of renewable feedstock, communications team for both internal and external communications, public affairs team on regulatory requirements in the country of origin and destination markets, compliance team on market requirements, procurement and legal teams related to contracts for projects, business development teams to drive sustainability messaging and other global sustainability team members on various environmental and human rights topics.

Your role in our team / in creating a sustainable future

  • Managing sustainability Due Diligence process for all suppliers in existing and new emerging regions in Asia-pacific region
  • Engaging with suppliers and communicating our sustainability criteria and requirements as well as managing suppliers alongside with supply managers
  • Assisting new suppliers in their sustainability development to meet required sustainability criteria
  • Supporting risk assessment for different raw materials in different geographical regions through suppliers' engagement and site verification audits.
  • Supplier engagement and improving supplier performance such as but not limited to running workshops, NDPE Policy development, Traceability to plantation, Supplier Management Systems etc
  • Stakeholder Engagement (Brands, MNCs, Suppliers, Government and NGOs)
  • Collaborate with other functions to improve sustainability in our supply chains.
  • Drive Sustainability projects and initiatives in the region promoting Neste Sustainability Visions forward
  • Any other tasks as required

Keys to success in this role / The best combination to succeed in this role

  • Bachelor/Master degree in environmental science/ environmental engineering/ agriculture management/ sustainable development or associated subjects.
  • Demonstrated extensive record on leading projects involving diverse teams remotely.
  • Min 5 years proven sustainability, CSR related experience in International Organization.
  • Experience in palm oil or related commodities such as Cocoa, Rubber, Tea, etc preferred.
  • Knowledge of biofuels/feedstock products legislation and regulations.
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team. Must be willing to learn.
  • Availability for frequent traveling
  • Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills
