Job Description:
- Machining Operations: Set up and operate CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and manual machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce parts according to specifications.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations and sequence.
- Quality Control: Perform inspections and measurements using precision instruments (calipers, micrometers) to ensure that parts meet required tolerances and quality standards.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot machines and tools, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Programming: Develop and modify CNC programs as necessary to improve efficiency and quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to discuss project requirements and resolve issues.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production, including quantities produced, scrap rates, and machine maintenance logs.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a machinist or in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating CNC and manual machining equipment and familiarity with machining tools and techniques.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision and accuracy in all machining processes.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues effectively.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety standards and practices.
