Job Summary
We are looking for a Mainframe Operations Analyst to manage Critical Mainframe Batch and Console Operations for Production, Development and Disaster Recovery (DR) Environment for a leading bank institution.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
- 1 to 2 years of experience in mainframe system operations, running batch job execution, and working with OPC;
- Able to work with Multiple Virtual Storage (MVS) Job Control Language (JCL);
- Experience with MVS/ESA, OS390, and z/OS environments;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Possess strong attention to detail;
- Strong collaboration skills and able to work with cross-functional teams
Desired Skill-set
- Has worked in the banking industry.
Responsibilities
- Directed job listings to the Development Environment for SMEs to troubleshoot;
- Monitored system and batch console messages, addressing abnormalities and managing subsystems like CICS and OPC;
- Controlled and scheduled batch job operations in OPC, including reruns, holds, prioritizations, and cancellations;
- Monitored resource contention for batch operations and initiated or halted batch initiators based on operational needs;
- Downloaded new configuration items to ATMs and monitored ATM Partner Links for issues;
- Restored EOS reports per Business User instructions and handled Changeman deployment cancellations;
- Purged hung CD processes and conducted daily DR environment startup checks;
- Monitored critical system resources like Jess Pool, CPU utilization, and CICS Max Tasks;
- Escalated batch job failures or critical issues to SMEs or the Command Center promptly.
