The legal team, consisting of 20 highly qualified professionals, is at the forefront of this evolution, driving numerous innovative projects, including the recent launch of a bespoke legal chatbot and a ticket management system tailored for legal operations.
The legal department is a dynamic and collaborative environment, where productivity and a sense of purpose are key. The team is diverse, representing four generations of legal professionals who bring a wealth of experience from various industries. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice and support across a wide range of the organization’s initiatives and projects.
- Independently manage or advise on litigation, employment disputes, and other contentious matters in collaboration with HR and other stakeholders.
- Lead the development and implementation of legal and compliance policies, processes, and systems.
- Investigate and address queries and complaints related to breaches of law or internal policies.
- Administer and implement ethics and compliance programs, including data governance, privacy, training, and awareness initiatives.
- Offer timely legal support and advice to various departments, negotiating and collaborating on partnerships, research collaborations, procurement contracts, IT agreements, and more.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience (10 years PQE), either in-house or at a reputable law firm.
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Experience in litigation and investigations is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of data protection laws and governance practices.
- Ability to work autonomously with a high degree of independence.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills to provide pragmatic legal solutions.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- A positive outlook with a growth mindset and effective communication skills, capable of simplifying complex legal issues for diverse audiences.
- A strong team player with the ability to collaborate with other legal and compliance professionals.
