Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain business standards for accuracy, productivity and reliability.
- Manage the daily functions of the business.
- Prepare annual performance review and re-evaluate processes.
- Ensure regulatory, compliance and legal rules are followed.
- Manage budget to align with goals of business.
- Manage a team of import, export, transshipment & nomination staff.
- Plan for team's development, setup for SOPs where required.
- Monitor and aid in solving day to day issues where needed.
- Managing department budgets and get involved in setting targets.
- Handle Shipping Claims where needed.
- Manage elevated customer concerns and negotiate claims.
- Prepare performance reports & improvement plans.
- Negotiate with Carriers, Warehouse Operators or Distribution networks to determine favourable Tariffs.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
- 3 years of work experience in NVOCC preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong ability to multitask.
- Comfort working with multiple groups within business.
- A Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies or equivalent.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills.
- Ability to make decisions at critical moments.
- Experience in using Sysfreight Software preferred.
- Need to travel and liaise with China agents
