We are looking for a self-driven and experienced Dangerous Good (DG) Specialist for one of our shipping clients. He/She will oversee and implement global policies, procedures, and guidelines related to dangerous goods, ensuring adherence to international and statutory regulations, while actively promoting business development in this crucial field. The ideal candidate preferably should possess a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have a proven track record in working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce the Group's policies, procedures, and guidelines for dangerous goods, ensuring worldwide compliance.
- Facilitate the acceptance of dangerous goods (DG) by optimizing processes to boost DG volume.
- Oversee the global team's workload, staff engagement, and performance evaluations.
- Identify underperforming agencies and arrange targeted training on processes, documentation, and best booking practices.
- Lead investigations into incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Diploma in Maritime/Logistics/Supply Chain Studies or a related field.
- Possesses DG training qualifications and is proficient in the IMDG code.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working as DG Desk Specialist or in similar capacity.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A proactive and assertive approach with the capacity to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced organization.
- Must be able to work well as part of a team and independently.
