We are looking for a self-driven and experienced Manager, Trade Strategy and Development for one of our shipping clients. This role involves conducting market studies, analyzing data, and preparing executive presentations to support strategic decision-making. The manager will also facilitate workshops, track performance, handle reporting, and manage ad-hoc projects as required. The incumbent should have at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Oversee and contribute to the creation and upkeep of multi-year strategic plans and financial models tailored to the container shipping sector.
- Market Studies: Perform strategic analyses for market entry and new service initiatives, utilizing extensive industry knowledge of container shipping to evaluate opportunities and risks.
- Data Analysis: Examine internal and external data sources to derive insights into business performance and suggest improvements, employing tools such as Excel, PowerBI, and Tableau.
- Executive Presentations: Organize and prepare presentations and strategic studies for senior management and the board of directors.
- Workshops & Research: Facilitate strategic planning workshops and conduct in-depth research to assess and develop strategic options.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor the progress of strategic initiatives, collaborating with the business analytics team to create informative dashboards and presentations.
- Reporting: Lead the development of supply/capacity-related sections for Line Management's "Monthly Monitor" reports and maintain competitor performance benchmarking datasets.
- Ad-hoc Projects: Manage additional duties or projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Business, Accounting, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in strategic planning, business analysis, or related roles, specifically within the container shipping industry
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and familiarity with dashboarding tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
