We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and detail-oriented NDT Systems Engineer to join our team. This role demands extensive expertise in advanced NDT methods, system design, programming, and hands-on testing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in operating and programming advanced NDT equipment, including PAUT, ToFD, DRT, ECT, and ACFM, and will possess advanced skills in software and mechanical design.
- Advanced NDT Equipment Handling:
- Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT): Operate PAUT systems, including setting up and calibrating equipment, configuring probe arrays, and conducting complex inspections on various materials.
- Direct Radiography Testing (DRT): Execute DRT procedures, including optimizing exposure parameters, interpreting radiographic images, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Eddy Current Testing (ECT): Perform ECT for detecting surface and near-surface flaws, including setting up test parameters and analyzing signals.
- Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM): Utilize ACFM to detect and size surface-breaking defects, including setting up equipment and interpreting measurement data.
- System Design and Programming:
- Automatic Immersion Systems: Design, program, and implement automated immersion systems for ultrasonic testing. This includes developing custom software solutions and integrating with hardware components.
- Software Simulation: Use CIVA software to simulate and model NDT scenarios, optimizing test setups and predicting inspection outcomes.
- Equipment Programming: Develop and troubleshoot custom programming for ultrasonic testing equipment, including creating scripts for specific test procedures and automating test sequences.
- Software Proficiency:
- Olympus Tomoview: Utilize Olympus Tomoview for detailed analysis and reporting of ultrasonic test data.
- SolidWorks:Design and model mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks, including creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
- AutoCAD: Produce and modify technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, ensuring accurate representation of designs and systems.
- Training and Certification:
- Training Delvery: Conduct training sessions and examinations for customers and internal staff, covering Level 1 and Level 2 courses in conventional and advanced NDT methods.
- Certification Support: Provide support and expertise for NDT certification processes, including preparation for ASNT Level 3 and PCN Level 2 & 3 examinations.
- Consulting and Solutions:
- Consulting: Offer expert consulting services to address complex NDT challenges, providing tailored solutions based on client requirements and industry standards.
- Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve technical issues related to NDT processes, equipment, and system integration.
- Travel Requirements:
- Regional Travel: Travel to various international locations, including the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar) and Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India) for project assignments.
- Adaptability: Adapt to diverse working environments, including offshore and onshore sites, and handle project demands with flexibility.
Requirements:
- Experience and Expertise:
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with advanced NDT methods, including PAUT, ToFD, DRT, ECT, and ACFM.
- System Design: Demonstrated experience in designing and programming automatic immersion systems, with a solid understanding of integration between hardware and software.
- Educational Background:
- Degree: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in NDT or Mechanical Engineering.
- Certifications: Professional certifications required: ASNT Level 3 in UT, RT, MT, ET, PT; PCN Level 2 & Level 3 in UT, PAUT, and TOFD.
- Technical Skills:
- CIVA Software: Advanced knowledge of CIVA software for NDT simulation and modeling.
- SolidWorks and AutoCAD: Proficient in SolidWorks for mechanical design and AutoCAD for technical drawing.
- Programming Skills: Experienced in programming ultrasonic testing equipment, including creating custom scripts and automation solutions.
