Headquartered in Singapore, Equis Development Pte. Ltd. (“Equis”) is Asia-Pacific’s leading renewable energy and waste infrastructure developer and operator with a successful track of record of having developed over 200 renewable energy and waste infrastructure projects across the region.
With offices in Singapore, Australia, Japan and Korea, Equis is focused on developing, constructing and operating primary and hybrid renewable energy and biomass generation, power grid distribution and transmission and waste infrastructure assets in Australia, Japan and South Korea.
What we offer
As an integral member of the finance team, we are seeking a curious and critical thinker with a data driven mindset and a relentless passion to achieve innovation and enhancement in the group financial reporting of the business. This role will leverage systems and automation to bring scale, efficiency and reliability to the financial reporting process.
What you will do
- Apply innovation and a data mindset to streamline processes, minimise manual effort and improve the efficiency of the finance function
- Leverage a control mindset to support the monthly financial close process
- Lead and oversee the preparation of financial statements of Equis group entities according to applicable financial reporting standards
- Support the annual audit process for multiple Equis entities and act as one of the main points of liaison with auditors, especially on technical matters
- Review capital call and distribution calculations and notices with the help of the Fund administrator
- Perform cash management, including forecasting and enforcement of group distribution policy
- Monitor foreign exchange and interest rate policies and group compliance with such policies
- Work closely with outsourced accounting function in Manila on all accounting matters and with other finance colleagues in Australia, Japan and Korea on collating of all group consolidated reporting and continually assessing finance/accounting practices in general
- Perform ad hoc project work and support to the Group CFO and Financial Controller as required
What you can offer
- CPA / CA qualified with at least 8 years of work experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ commercial experience (i.e. outside of audit practice)
- A curious, independent and critical thinker with strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently interact with senior management and colleagues
- Proven track record in leveraging systems and automation to improve efficiency, reliability and scale in a financial reporting function
- Proven commercial acumen and industry experience including working with fund administrators
- Highly numerate with strong excel skills, experience with data visualisation tools including PowerBI strongly preferred
- Prior experience of working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central desirable
- Experience with and/or willingness to upskill
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic, organised, methodical and efficient
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently to achieve optimal results
- Interest in the renewables sector and desire to develop career within the finance function
