Role:
- Service and re-commission old or existing navigation systems.
- Expertly perform installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of: a. Maritime navigation systems such as Marine Radar, Gyro compass, Magnetic compass, autopilot, echo sounder, speed log, steering FFU/NFU, weather fax, wind speed/direction, etc. b. Marine telecommunication systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of communication systems such as GMDSS, VHF/UHF, MF/HF SSB, NBDP, NDB, Navtex, Inmarsat, etc.
- Conduct Radio Surveys and VDR APT Surveys as required by class regulations and when necessary.
- Provide technical support to customers and the company’s sales and service agents.
- Promote and seek sales of company products and services during customer interactions.
- Collaborate with internal service coordinators and other international Marine Service Organization members, acting as technical support for Global Technical Specialists and Global Coordinators when needed.
- Be available and contactable 24/7 for service attendance requests.
- Assist with local field service jobs or other tasks as needed.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports and expense statements after each task.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations of both the company and the customer at all times.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of GMDSS setup is a plus.
- Experienced NAVCOM Engineer with a proven history in the maritime industry.
- Proficient in Marine Electronics, Field Service Engineering, Engineering, Commissioning, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong engineering professional with a Degree in Engineering.
- Training from OEM/manufacturers on navigational equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools like CRM is preferred.
- Serve as the point of contact for all service and business-related activities in and around the Singapore region, with experience handling port-related entry and formalities in the Asia region.
- Strong experience in automation/system integration of marine equipment.
- Fluent in oral and written English with good communication skills.
- Willing to travel cross-border and work on rolling schedules at short notice for business-related tasks.
- Capable of managing office functions according to government and local rules.
- Competent, solution-driven, with a strong customer-first mindset.
- Able to take calculated risks and make quick, tough decisions to meet customer needs.
- Trained in the latest equipment and integrated systems, in line with their experience.
