ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Company Opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative company operating in the field of engineering, construction, installation, and maintenance services. With a proven track record of excellence, our client is seeking an experienced Finance Director to head up the Finance & Accounting function for the region. The RoleReporting to the Group CEO, this is a highly visible and crucial role within the organization, and you drive all financial performance and support the strategic direction of the company. Your key responsibilities include:
- Oversee the full spectrum of Finance and Accounting Lead and manage all finance and accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. This includes financial and management reporting, tax compliance, internal controls, and cashflow management.
- Business Partnering with Operations, Project Managers, and Procurement: Collaborate closely with operations project managers, and procurement teams to provide financial insights and analysis, supporting decision-making processes. Act as a strategic partner by providing financial guidance and analysis on business initiatives, cost optimization, and performance improvement opportunities. Strategic Planning and Risk Management: Support the business in strategic planning, identifying areas of risk and opportunities for growth and profitability.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the achievement of business objectives. Monitor key performance indicators and provide recommendations to drive financial success. Drive Process Improvement and System Implementation: Continuously evaluate and enhance finance and accounting processes, systems, and controls to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Lead the implementation of new financial systems, tools, and technologies to support business growth and streamline financial operations. At least 8 to 15 years of relevant experience in overseeing the full spectrum of finance and accounting Prior experience within a project based environment will be essential (eg. Engineering, Construction, etc) Proven experience in working with procurement (eg. Experience in reviewing procurement processes and agreements as well as negotiation of commercial terms)
- Strong business partnering skills and commercial savviness to support the CEO and senior management team in growing the business across the region Proven experience in a leadership capacity Strong communication and presentation skills will be essential. Monitor and track financial movement of projects, working with the operations team to mitigate risks and minimize project cost overruns. Identify process gaps and propose corrective actions to drive operational efficiency and standardization within SFS. Manage cash effectively by working with credit control and SFS team to address potential collectability issues. Lead month-end closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely entry bookings in the local ERP system. Prepare and submit management reports to stakeholders, using the Tagetik system for monthly reporting cycles. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain balance sheet schedules according to the closing schedule, resolving variances and outstanding items promptly. Take full responsibility for forecasting and budgeting for the entity. Prepare annual corporate tax submissions and comply with IRAS (Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore) requirements. Complete any other assigned projects or tasks as necessary. Able to work under pressure . salary $6000-6500$ (neg)
Requirements: -
- Degree holder in accounting or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 8+ years as a qualified accountant and experience in IFRS is essential.
- Not afraid to challenge thinking, has an aptitude for problem-solving and a methodical approach to their work.Demonstrable evidence of having strong work habits and time-management skills.A high attention to detail, someone who enjoys 'getting things right' and knows the importance of data.Excellent working knowledge of Excel along with relevant finance systems relevant to the legal sectorAn experienced manager who can motivate others, collaborate effectively, and drive performance.An ability to flex one's style when needed and equally have a good level of resilience, persuasion and reasoning skills, and knowing how to manage oneself in challenging situations and with competing deadlines & demands. Project management skills.
