We are seeking a skilled Junior Security Administrator to join us on a 1 month contract to support our project.
This role is critical in ensuring the security and integrity of our IT infrastructure. The Security Administrator will be responsible for performing server scans, auditing and scanning files and documents, hardening passwords, managing configuration settings, and overseeing overall security administration.
Responsibilities:
- Server Scanning: Conduct regular scans of servers to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats. Implement necessary updates and patches to address identified issues.
- File and Document Auditing: Audit and scan files and documents to ensure they are secure and comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Password Hardening: Implement and manage password policies to enhance security. Ensure that passwords are complex, regularly updated, and stored securely.
- Configuration Settings: Work on configuring and adjusting settings across systems and applications to ensure they meet security standards and best practices.
- Security Administration: Oversee and manage security administration tasks including user access controls, permissions, and security protocols. Respond to and manage security incidents and alerts.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of security procedures, configurations, and incidents. Generate regular reports on security status and compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT and security teams to integrate security measures into overall IT processes and projects. Provide support and training to other staff on security best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a security administration role or a related position.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of server and network security principles, file and document security, and password management. Experience with security scanning tools and configuration management.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or similar are preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain security issues and solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Integrity: High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.
