We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchaser to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for sourcing products from China. This role requires a deep understanding of the Chinese market, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate fluently with suppliers in China. The Purchaser will be based in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
- Source new suppliers and negotiate favorable prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules
- Maintain and build relationships with existing suppliers
- Conduct research and analysis on market trends, product developments, and pricing strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure purchasing strategies align with company goals
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner
- Conduct supplier audit (QC) as and when required
- Communicate fluently with suppliers in China, both in written and verbal forms.
- Handle import documentation and customs clearance procedures.
- Prepare cost analyses and reports for management review
- Work closely with the logistics team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
- Ad hoc duties assigned by the director.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in sourcing, or supply chain management, a fresh graduate will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of the Chinese market and experience working with suppliers in China
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong command of Chinese, verbal and written to liaise with Chinese Suppliers.
