Responsibilities:
- Monitors and reports on technical accounting issues and developments, including researching and reviewing the impact of new accounting guidance
- Prepares technical accounting memos and related materials to support the company's reporting position
- Ensures compliance with the applicable financial reporting standards
- Participates in the review, analysis, and documentation of complex transactions. Assists in determining and documenting the Company’s accounting policies and position on relevant transactions
- Assists with the implementation of new accounting standards and the development of new accounting processes
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with external auditors
- Prepares technical accounting training materials and conducts technical accounting training for staff
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years of working experience in related field, preferably with at least 3 years in technical accounting
- High proficiency in IFRS is essential
- Prior working experience in Big 4 CPA firm or construction company preferred
- Detail-oriented, self-directed and able to effectively complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Able to read and understand complex and/or unusual transactions/contracts and identify issues, conduct research and draft technical memos
