Junior UX UI Designer

Eight Inc. Design Singapore Pte. Ltd.

A Junior Digital Designer plays a hands-on role and is responsible not only for creating user-centered designs that enhance the overall customer journey but also for contributing to the strategic thinking and processes that underpin them.

Given the long-term commitment our projects or products require with clients, the Junior UX UI Designer is frequently tasked with specific parts of a work stream. This role requires a good understanding of UX/UI principles, an interest in CX design, and service design. This necessitates possessing the fundamental skills to manage both themselves and their tasks effectively to deliver compelling work from inception to completion throughout the process. Moreover, excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships with our internal team and clients.

Additionally, a Junior UX UI Designer should be able to establish rapport with internal client organization team members and technology team. This role ensures that design standards remain consistently high, including a focus on delivering a good user experience across the digital ecosystem.

1. Responsibilities

1.1. User Research and Analysis:

1.1.1 Support user research to understand user behaviors, needs, and pain points.

1.1.2. Process data and insights to inform design decisions and improve user experiences.

1.2.3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and align design solutions with business goals.

1.2. UX/UI Design:

1.2.1. Create user-centered design solutions that prioritize usability, accessibility, and aesthetics.

1.2.2. Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications.

1.2.3. Iterate designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and stakeholder input.

1.2.4. Ensure consistency and coherence across all digital platforms and products.

1.3 Interaction Design and Prototyping:

1.3.1. Design intuitive and interactive interfaces that enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

1.3.2. Develop interactive prototypes using tools such as Sketch, Figma, and Adobe XD.

1.3.3. Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless implementation of designs and user interactions.

1.4. Usability Testing and Optimization:

1.4.1. Support usability testing sessions to evaluate design effectiveness.

1.4.2. Process usability test results and identify areas for improvement.

1.4.3. Optimize designs based on usability findings, user feedback, and industry best practices.

1.4.4. Contribute to Design System and Documentation and design assets to support development teams.

1.4.5. Contribute to the development and maintenance of a design system for consistent design elements and patterns.


2. Qualities

2.1. Good interpersonal skills with keen attention to detail.

2.2. Understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.

2.3. An interest in CX design, and service design.

2.4. Problem-solving skill with an ability to articulate ideas and design solutions.

2.5. Design obsessive, aware of best industry practices but driven to advance our understanding of its potential

2.6. A strong team player who is a self-starter with a high degree of initiative, requiring minimal supervision.

2.7. Aptitude for business with strong communication skills.

2.8. Ability to champion UX/UI design initiatives.

2.9. Fluent in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and prototyping tools.


3. Experience

3.1. Proven training and experience as UX/UI designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing design expertise and successful projects.

3.2. Degree in specialised field, or equivalent

3.3. Track record working experience in relevant organisations.
