- Enter data and prepare documentation for all style information needed to support merchandise classification.
- Monitor and coordinate with forwarders, distribution centers, and both local and overseas customers, as well as transportation teams, to resolve issues such as quantity discrepancies, carton discrepancies, seal discrepancies, and manifest discrepancies.
- Collect information on risks and issues and review the status of products or projects.
- Understand compliance requirements within the assigned geography, particularly in the APAC region.
- Develop and maintain procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in the import and export process.
- Prepare and file compliance reports.
- Address and respond to client concerns.
- Consult with internal and external legal departments and advise leadership and management on compliance matters.
- Communicate with government agencies regarding compliance statuses, including strategic permit applications and renewals.
- Prepare communications and present updates on company compliance processes.
- Ensure that all products, activities, documentation, and policies comply with industry, provincial/territorial, and federal regulations. Complete special compliance-related projects.
- Develop and deliver employee training programs on compliance matters, policies, practices, and reporting systems.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and records of compliance activities.
- Update company records related to compliance data.
- Identify, assess, and resolve compliance issues, irregularities, and violations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, advising company leaders on compliance matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
- Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in compliance.
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
