We are a dynamic and growing hedge fund seeking a highly skilled software developer for a 3-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with exceptional coding skills and a keen interest in financial services and asset management. You will gain valuable experience in the hedge fund industry by contributing to the development of IT systems and architecture that support our operations.
As a Software Developer, you will collaborate closely with our operations team on a regulatory reporting project. Your primary responsibility will be to develop an in-house solution, potentially including the creation of an XML translator from flat files.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the operations team to develop a regulatory reporting solution.
- Develop an XML translator from flat files and ensure proper integration with existing systems, as well as other pieces in the in-house regulatory reporting program.
- Manage and maintain the existing codebase, as well as code documentation.
- Additional projects may be assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications / Profile
- Degree-level qualification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with expertise in coding using one or more of the following languages: XML, Python, C/C++, Java, Excel VBA.
- Experience in XML is required.
- Experience in Azure SQL and Python will be a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively, bridge the gap between trading and technology teams.
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and self-driven attitude.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to various business management activities within the firm, including Investment, Research, Finance/Accounting, Operations, and Compliance.
