The role holder will partner with business / function leaders in Transformation, Technology & Operations to deliver the local People Plan, aligned to the relevant global business / function People Plan.

Responsibilities:
Strategy

  • Partner with relevant business leaders to formulate and deliver the People Plan, aligned to the Global Functions’ People Plan, to enable a high-performance culture focused on enhancing capability and improving productivity across Functions in Singapore.
  • Deliver appropriate and relevant HR advice, ensuring that this is aligned to the overarching business strategy, governance processes and risk appetite.
  • Identify, prioritise and build organisational capabilities and behaviours to drive the country-wide Function’s strategy.

Business

  • Proactively form credible relationships to effectively partner with business leaders and challenge / influence relevant decision-making as appropriate.
  • Engage with and coach assigned Functions’ business leaders in configuring and deploying people policies, processes and products processes to drive business performance and engagement.
  • Act as a change agent and key enabler to help drive global and Functions’ specific change initiatives with stakeholders and wider teams.
  • Drive projects and deliverables that relate to the Functions’ people agenda.
  • Lead country People Forums for Functions in line with business needs.

Processes

  • Provide support for the implementation and execution of HR processes, policies and procedures ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Challenge processes, policies, and procedures where there is a more effective way of doing things and raise awareness of best practices for regional adoption as identified.
  • Work with risk control owners and/or Group policy owners to ensure effective implementation and operationalisation of relevant policies and control standards set by them.

People and Talent

  • Develop an appropriate talent strategy to ensure a high-quality succession pipeline exists for critical roles within Functions with a focus on developing capability fit for future business needs
  • Focus on inter-region and global talent opportunities and pipelines, in collaboration with colleagues within HR including Global HRBPs
  • Work in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
  • Employ, engage and retain high quality people.

Risk Management

  • Understand and help manage the people-related risk profile of functions including operational and reputational risk, to Group Standards
  • Provide oversight of complex employee relations issues involving senior people, significant litigation, and high profile or broad business issues
  • Support the effective implementation of the Risk Management framework within the role remit.

Governance

  • Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct, as it relates to the role remit, to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations form part of the culture within Functions.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across the Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Other Responsibilities

  • Embed Here for good and the Group’s brand and values within the role’s remit.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Good educational background, ideally to degree or equivalent level.
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in relevant field.
  • Ability to develop and enhance relationships across multiple stakeholders in various functional and geographic groups.
  • Excellent written English with experience of drafting policies, procedures and operational documentation to a high standard.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment with appropriate supervision. A desire to deliver results. Self-motivated and self-reliant with genuine desire to get things done and to do it right, as well as the ability to provide practical and effective advice. Being able to accept challenge and change, listen to the other point of view and adapt your approach accordingly is essential.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are required.
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Markets operations and products.
