JOB PURPOSE:
To provide legal advisory support to Corporate Banking and International Private Banking businesses
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To review, draft and negotiate various legal documentation including loan agreements, banking facilities, trade documents, the Bank’s standard documentation, outsourcing agreements and service level agreements
2. To assist on corporate secretarial matters and co-ordinate the filing of annual and periodic returns under the Companies Act, including Corp-Pass governance
3. To review term sheets, legal opinions, and non-disclosure agreements for lending facilities
4. To provide legal consultation and support to all levels of the Bank and develop practical legal solutions to complex business initiatives
5. To liaise with/consult Head Office Legal and external counsels on the Bank’s legal affairs
6. To advise on Personal Data Protection Act (“PDPA”) matters and provide periodic training on PDPA to staffs as well as conduct periodic review of the internal guidelines
7. To participate in compliance-related projects and/or perform any other duties as may be assigned by Team Lead and Head of Department from time to time
KEY COMPETENCIES:
1. Either Singapore, UK or Malaysia law qualifications with 2-3 years Post Qualified Experienced (“PQE”). Dual qualifications preferred.
2. Sound working knowledge of Banking Laws and Regulations (e.g. Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act and Financial Advisers Act)
3. Creative, resourceful, meticulous, analytical and able to work independently with excellent verbal and report-writing skills
4. Self-driven and a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
5. Ability to multi-task and execute tasks with a sense of urgency and with the ultimate goal of delivering tasks on time
6. Good analytical, process management, execution and leadership skills
