As a successful critical environment Electrical Engineer
• A strong desire and capability to learn, grow, and develop new skills
• Oversee Tenant Improvement works associated with white space fit out of new data centre spaces
• Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities
• Understand the design and functionality of your datacenter.
• Work with design, construction, and commissioning teams to properly integrate the new electrical distribution systems to existing data center
• Support and validate on-site datacenters operations in relation to the electrical infrastructure.
• Be an electrical SME to support on-site operations related to mission critical electrical system, operations, and functionality.
• Develop digitised electrical distribution templates to support rack placement
• Empower operational optimization and efficiency improvement initiatives
Qualifications
• 7+ years of experience in defining, designing, and operating data center critical infrastructure
• Demonstrated record of innovation and influence with the data center space
• Demonstrated record of successful process definition and systems architecture
• Demonstrated record of successful infrastructure roadmap planning
• Deep understanding of data center electrical systems architecture
Although NOT required, OCI is also looking for the following preferred qualifications
• Strong experience with the operation and maintenance of building electrical systems. (electrical distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, and controls systems)
• Established understanding of electrical theory and practical application via maintenance and operation of critical electrical equipment (paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, standby diesel generators, etc.)
• Strong understanding of distributed and block redundant electrical distribution architecture
• Knowledge of construction techniques, terminology, and documentation (ability to interpret blueprints, electrical SLDs, mechanical SLDs and construction drawings)
• Practical experience with building management systems and automation, controls, and frameworks
You will be responsible for:
- Reviewing new sites and proposed fit out designs
- Ensuring striping plans are accurate, fail-over design are compliant
- Developing digitized electrical models
- Supporting supplier whitespace fit-out
- Ensuring documentation is captured, stored, referenced and share with field engineering and operation teams.
- Supporting engineering investigations into large scale events
- Supporting field engineering teams
