Organization Overview:
Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been providing specialized early intervention programs since its official opening on 31 July 2010. We receive cases from SG Enable through hospital referrals, with enrollment following an initial screening process. Our center focuses on early intervention for children aged two to six years old, from various races and religions, diagnosed or suspected with mild to moderate autism spectrum disorders (ASD), global developmental delay, and/or intellectual disabilities. Our goal is to maximize the developmental potential of these children.
Program Structure:
Children attend 3-hour sessions twice a week. Our multi-disciplinary team, including teachers, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists, collaborates to set specific and measurable 1-year goals for each child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The IEP covers six domains: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive, social communication, and social skills.
Key Responsibility Areas
1. Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide professional social work services and guidance to families of clients.
- Conduct means testing, including family interviews and home visits as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks related to social work, such as writing social reports, minutes, and correspondence.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all cases in both physical files and IT systems.
- Collaborate with other professionals to deliver high-quality social work services to students.
- Uphold professional integrity by ensuring client confidentiality and showing respect and sensitivity to clients’ cultural backgrounds.
- Maintain accurate data and share relevant information to ensure accountability to clients.
- Enhance professional competencies by participating in relevant training programs.
- Actively participate in and contribute to discussions during ECHO GCO meetings with the team and parents.
- Ensure compliance with NCSS/MSF/ECDA requirements, including SSR, PES, HOMES, and QA standards.
2. Additional Responsibilities:
- Receive training and mentorship from experienced Social Worker colleagues.
- Support volunteer management efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or the Social Worker.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working closely with children and their families.
- Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Social Work.
- Other Requirements: Relevant work experience in a preschool setting is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates diligence, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
