We are seeking a graphic designer for Daybreak, Bloomberg's flagship morning news product. In this position, you'll work closely with our Team Leaders and editors to conceive and create provocative cover imagery and compelling charts and graphics for two of Daybreak's six international editions under strict deadlines. You'll also be asked to generate imagery and treat photos for Bloomberg Today, our new 24/7 mobile offering.
We're looking for a creative thinker who'll be at ease conceptualizing artwork for complex topics such as central bank policy, foreign exchange and macroeconomics, as well as corporate actions, geopolitical events and sports. You will help to identify broader business trends across the globe and be able to connect the dots visually for both regional and global audiences, all in a fast-paced environment.
We'll trust you to:
- Help steer the artistic direction of Daybreak and other mobile news offerings.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of business news and be comfortable working with experienced editors.
- Communicate clearly and remain even-keeled under the pressure of several daily deadlines.
- Collaborate with colleagues around the newsroom to make sure Daybreak leverages Bloomberg's best content.
- Move quickly and operate confidently in a flat-org environment
You'll need to have:
- At least 2 years of graphic design experience at an agency, studio or broadcast environment
- Proficiency in Adobe's Creative Suite specifically Photoshop and web design software (Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, Excel, 3D graphics, animation)
- Experience with designing for digital, print and motion graphics including but not limited to explainers, infographics
- Excellent at conception, teamwork, and handling multiple projects at once
- Demonstrated experience of concepting, storyboarding, directing and animating
- Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organisation
- Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
We'd love to see:
- Knowledge of Python, Excel and 3D graphics
