You will support the Director, Research, and Assistant Director in the planning, development and implementation of research strategic and collaborative initiatives. You will work with the team to develop Centre-initiated programme/grant proposals and chart strategic pathways in support of the national research and healthcare agenda, preparation of cases for support to attract philanthropic funding, organize strategic initiatives (eg strategic retreats, study trips and visits by key overseas delegations) and support research communication efforts to raise the profile of the research community locally and internationally. You will be responsible for the post-grant award matters related to Centre programmes/grants.
You will facilitate, support and manage multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary research collaborations between NDCS and external stakeholders. For this, you will engage academic and industry partners; explore funding, translational and commercial opportunities to bring our inventions to the market; and handle invention disclosures and other contractual matters.
You will provide secretariat support to the collaborative project team which includes coordination of meetings, provide single point of contact between external parties and NDCS, facilitate the drafting, reviewing and negotiating of agreements and track progress until full execution of the research agreements, facilitate discussion on research proposal, facilitate grant submission, coordinate budgets, tracking of the project progress and provide overall project management to the project from the beginning till the end of the project.
You will assist to manage relationships with key stakeholders, collaborating with other functional groups within and beyond the organisation to support milestone achievements; hosting and presenting where required and manage research issues and challenges. You will work with the research administrative team and the research community in preparing progress updates, research budget and workplans for the various reporting stakeholders.
Requirements:
· Degree in Life Science, Biological Science, Biotechnology or related discipline
· Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in research and academic administration
· At least 2 years’ of managerial/supervisory experience
· Capable of managing multiple important stakeholders
· Possess good leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, organizational, time-management, analytical, presentation deck development and writing skills
· Highly motivated with strong ability to drive initiatives
