We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Engineer (Fire Protection) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that fire protection systems are designed, installed, and maintained in accordance with industry standards and project specifications. This role involves monitoring and supervising subcontractors' work, liaising with relevant authorities, and ensuring compliance with design specifications. The Engineer will review fire protection design drawings, identify discrepancies, and manage projects according to schedule. Additionally, the Engineer will lead testing and commissioning of fire protection systems, conduct site inspections, and prepare documentation for project handover. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of fire protection systems including sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and hydrant systems, and will be committed to maintaining safety and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise subcontractors’ work progression according to shop drawings, method statements, materials, and samples
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant authorities, subcontractors, or clients on shop drawings, materials, and samples
- Review and align fire protection design drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications and guidelines
- Identify discrepancies between M&E, structural, ID, architectural, and client provisions
- Manage and execute projects as per the schedule, addressing issues in meetings with contractors
- Plan and lead testing and commissioning of fire protection systems
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Building Services
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fire protection engineering
- Proficient in MS Office and excellent communication and written skills
- Experience with Water Mist systems and/or foam systems is an added advantage
- Ability to work independently and possess strong interpersonal skills
