Location: Central Kitchen, West Singapore
Contract Duration: October to December 2024
Salary Range: SGD 2,400 - 2,600 per month
The Pastry Assistant will support the Head Pastry Chef and pastry team in all aspects of production. This role involves preparing ingredients, assisting with the production of pastries, cakes, desserts, juices and ensuring that the kitchen is clean and organized. The ideal candidate is passionate about baking, eager to learn, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pastry & Juice Production: Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries, cakes, and juices
- Preparation of Ingredients: Follow detailed recipes and instructions to ensure consistent quality
- Kitchen Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning and sanitizing work surfaces, equipment, and tools
- Team Collaboration: Support the pastry team with daily production tasks and special orders
- Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, receiving deliveries, and storing ingredients properly
- Quality Control: Ensure that all products are consistent in taste, texture, and appearance.
- Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety standards
Requirements:
- Food Safety Course Level 1 - WSQ Food Hygiene Level 1 Certificate
- Previous experience in a bakery or pastry environment is advantageous, but not mandatory
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and baking ingredients
- 5-days work week including weekends, 44 hours per week
