Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Landscape Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust blend of landscape architecture expertise, project management acumen, and exceptional client-facing abilities. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for design excellence, a track record of successful project delivery, and a commitment to fostering strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage multiple landscape architecture projects from concept through completion, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and urban planners, to ensure integrated project outcomes.
Design and Technical Expertise:
- Produce high-quality landscape designs that meet client needs and align with project goals.
- Oversee the preparation of design documents, including plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
- Oversee site assessments and analysis, including environmental impact considerations, topography, plant selection, land use and social cultural aspects, functional aspects related to site.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, and other professional services involved in the project to integrate landscape design into overall project development.
- Coordinate and lead detailed design documents, schematic design packages, design development packages, and construction drawing packages, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Implement environmentally sustainable practices in design and maintenance, promoting biodiversity and ecological awareness.
- Stay updated on materials, and technologies to continuously improve design quality and efficiency
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs, providing updates, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Conduct presentations and communicate design concepts effectively to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and guide junior staff and interns, providing constructive feedback and supporting their professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices.
Business Development:
- Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities for new projects and expanding client relationships.
- Prepare and present proposals, including project scopes, timelines, and budgets, to potential clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in landscape architecture, with demonstrated expertise in project management and client interaction.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful projects and design capabilities.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven ability to manage complex projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional client-facing skills, with a track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Proficiency in landscape architecture software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey design ideas and project updates.
