We are seeking an IoT Development Project Engineer who can contribute on a contract basis for a proof-of-concept project. If this project is successful, there may be an opportunity to convert to permanent role. You will contribute by designing IoT solutions for the industrial markets.
You are a self-driven individual with a passion for electronics/microelectronics, miniaturisation, IoT/AIoT and a desire to work on customer-focused solutions that have the potential to change people’s lives for the better. There is also the opportunity to participate in research and development activities on new and exciting market applications.
Responsibilities:
· Design and develop IoT prototypes and products for specific project requirements. Could include custom-developed software applications and configured products.
· Preferably with experience in electronic hardware design, microcontroller firmware development, mobile programming using Flutter, edge computing.
· Experience in any of the following will be an advantage: embedded system software development, IoT related protocol e.g. secure two-way encrypted BLE communication
· Experience and knowledge in remote sensing technologies
· Conduct proof-of-concept and technical feasibility when required.
· Conduct through testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues that may arise.
· Evaluate the risk of security leak of the IoT system.
· Ensure proper project management documentation and provide progress update reports.
· Maintain comprehensive documentation of IoT technology development, research, system designs and testing protocols.
· Develop technical manuals and user guides for internal external use.
· Liaise with key stakeholders (internal, suppliers/vendors and customers.
· Provide engineering support in the resolution of product complaints and/or safety issues
· Work closely with others in the team to drive cost optimization, manufacturability, quality and reliability
· Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, good manufacturing practices, and regulations
· Performs other duties as assigned or required
Requirements:
· Minimum Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Info-Communication, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
· Prior IoT product development will be an advantage
· Strong programming skills, particularly in languages such as C, C++, Python, Java or Dart.
· In-depth knowledge of Bluetooth and Wi-fi standards, protocols, and system architectures.
· Experience with IoT & Bluetooth firmware & software development
· Familiarity with networking, IoT concepts/applications, data processing, edge computing and communication infrastructure for both software & hardware.
· Knowledge of security considerations in IoT systems.
· Proficient in mobile application development, e.g. Flutter
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to critically evaluate and interpret research data.
· Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
· Self-motivate, able to work independently and collaboratively within the team.
· Able to work well under pressure and possess a can-do attitude.
· Has other interests that could value-add to the role. E.g., biomechanics/ human body movement, data analytics, AI/ML, coding
