The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking a Research Fellow with a strong understanding of unsaturated soil mechanics and extensive laboratory experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct soil testing and field monitoring using advanced instrumentation to assess tree-root stability
- Constructing soil-water characteristic curves
- Perform triaxial test for unsaturated soil, soil-water characteristic experiments, field instrumentation installation, and results analysis
- Fieldwork includes sensor deployment, scheduled maintenance, and site supervision.
Job Requirements
- PhD degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnics
- Strong understanding of unsaturated soil mechanics
- Experience with lab testing and sensors
- Proficiency in electronics, particularly with soil testing sensors, is also required.
- Comfortable with experimental testing and instrumentation.
- Strong communication and writing skills are essential for effective teamwork.
- Able to work independently and contribute to team efforts.
