Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Identify new business opportunities by analyzing market trends and customer needs within the green chemicals industry.
- Collaborate with government agencies, and other external stakeholders to advance the green chemicals business.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients to understand their business requirements and propose solutions.
- Conduct competitive analysis to stay informed about market dynamics and competitor activities.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts to keep management informed about performance metrics.
- Lead negotiations for contracts, partnerships, and other business agreements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution of business development initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of work experience (marketing, sales) and industry knowledge such as petrochemical value chain, products, manufacturers and customers of a petrochemical manufacturing company.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in overseas trade such as bulk trade (chemical tanker deployment, negotiations with shipping companies and brokers, etc.)
- Strong understanding of the green chemicals industry and market trends.
- Practical experience in new business development and product launch
- Proven track record of successfully closing complex deals and achieving revenue targets.
- Bilingual (English & Japanese): Japanese language proficiency needs to be at the level of being able to communicate effectively with Japanese-speaking stakeholders to support business needs (spoken and written)
- Have strong initiative and self-motivation with good learning mindset
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently without supervision
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
