Job Overview:The Junior Windows Administrator will support and maintain our Windows server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. This role involves assisting with the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Windows-based systems, as well as providing support to end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server environments.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings in Active Directory.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery processes.
- Ensure the security of systems through regular updates, patches, and vulnerability assessments.
- Support and maintain Windows-based applications and services.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with senior administrators on system upgrades, migrations, and projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Batch) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals or similar certification.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Basic understanding of ITIL principles.
