ASSISTANT MANAGER

We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manager to lead the operational aspects of our business. You will deliver a high-quality menu and motivate our staff to provide excellent customer service standards.

Assistant Manager / Manager responsibilities

Restaurant Manager responsibilities include maintaining the restaurant’s revenue, profitability and quality goals. You will ensure efficient restaurant operations, as well as maintain good productivity, quality, and customer-service.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need management skills and experience in both front and back of the house. We want you to know how to oversee the dining room and terrasse, check-in with customers and balance seating capacity. Back of the house management experience is also essential, as you’ll hire qualified Service Staff, set work schedules, oversee restaurant, retail counter and bar preparations, and make sure we comply with health and safety restaurant regulations.

We’ll expect you to lead by example and uplift our staff during busy moments in our fast-paced environment. Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly and customers have pleasant dining experiences.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House, Bar and Retail operations, including the Wine Cellar
  • Deliver good service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Regularly review product quality
  • Organize and supervise shifts for restaurant, bar and retail counter
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Estimate future needs for service and bar utensils, take-away packaging, cleaning products and other products required by the overall Front of the House
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Manage restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it
  • Do reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses
  • Place orders for the ingredients required by the Front of the House
  • Inventory of all beverages and retail counters products
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
  • Proposing policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations

Requirements and skills

  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, or a solid Assistant Manager with relevant concept of Bistro
  • Proven customer service experience as a manager or assistant manager
  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, preferably Bistro, French is a plus, interest in Wines and French cheese
  • Ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and service staff
  • Ability to remember names of regular customers
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software, like Revel, and Excel worksheets
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Hospitality qualification is a plus but not a must
