Job Summary - Accountant (Resource Management Office):

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team by supporting the Director of RMO, partnering the project consultants in the effective delivery of the projects for our customers. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, strong desire to work in a workplace that promotes learning and growth. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in working as a Resource Management Accountant in a Professional Services Organisation environment and also concurrently work alongside with fellow colleagues in Strategic Finance software consultant role when opportunity arise.


Key Responsibilities


1. Resource Management

  • Schedule work forconsultants and assign consultants to projects
  • Find the people with the right skills for projects
  • Setting up and assist in managing the Resource Management Office
  • Balance the workload of consultant so that no consultants will be overbooked
  • Stay on top of constantly evolving plans, project status and milestones keeping tabs on the project pipeline and capacity changes.
  • Assist Management to have oversight of team's workload from a single, shared view to cut through project delivery chaos and streamline capacity.
  • Assist Management to have a view of entire resource pool in the short and long term
  • Assess how each project in the pipeline impacts team and identify utilisation trends in your resource and plans.
  • Provide insights into every consultants project revenue, workload, utilisation, and more.
  • Provide information for informed hiring decisions around capacity, role and skill requirements, hiring exactly who you need for the job and know when to start hiring additional staff or contractors.

2. Project Planning and Forecasting

  • Partnering with consultants to set up project plan and project budgets
  • Partnering with Sales to plan for projects in the pipeline to assess how they will impact consultants workload and Company financials
  • Forecast where business is heading to plan ahead with confidence.
  • Know the future capacity of business, teams, and individual consultants and visibility of how future work impacts availability
  • Stay on top of projects and whether projects are likely to land over or under budget so as to advise revising plans before it's too late.
  • Report and provide forecasts of how much revenue, profit and costs projects incur in the comprehensive project reports
  • Changes in pipeline projects and delays to projects are inevitable. Assess potential delays and changes and how it impacts revenue, profitability including cashflows of each project and the business
  • Financials are fundamental to business, you will assist to obtain accurate forecasts and provide timely reports to make business decisions.

3. Accounting and Reporting

  • You'll provide actionable insights to take your business to the next level.
  • Provide information to drive decisions to meet utilization targets - provide insights on how utilized the people in your teams are and identify trends across the business.
  • Get on top of your sales and projects pipeline. Balance workload with capacity and minimize under utilization and over hiring
  • Manage timely invoicing to customers and ensures prompt payments by customers
  • Manage timely processing of pay to employees and contractors as well as invoices from vendors
  • Month-end and year-end financial closing of account
  • Preparation of comprehensive financial reports and statements including financial planning and analysis
  • Quarterly GST Reporting and Annual tax compliance statement filing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks or similar software).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Some audit experience is preferred but not required.
