Account Manager – Food Industry

Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Account Manager to oversee and expand our customer base in the Malaysia and Singapore markets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing client accounts, building and nurturing relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the instant noodle industry, strong market insight into both Malaysia and Singapore and the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management:
  1. Manage and develop relationships with key retailers, distributors, and partners in the Malaysia and Singapore markets.
  2. Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  3. Monitor and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.


  • Sales & Business Development:
  1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share in both Malaysia and Singapore.
  2. Achieve sales targets and KPIs by upselling and cross-selling products within existing accounts.
  3. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to maximize revenue growth and profitability.


  • Market Research & Strategy:
  1. Conduct market research to understand consumer preferences, trends, and the competitive landscape in the instant noodle industry.
  2. Use insights to inform sales strategies and product positioning.
  3. Develop promotional and pricing strategies tailored to the unique characteristics of each market.


  • Client Engagement & Communication:
  1. Maintain regular communication with clients through meetings, calls, and presentations.
  2. Prepare and deliver customized proposals and presentations to meet client needs.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the seamless execution of sales and marketing initiatives.


  • Reporting & Analysis:
  1. Track and analyze sales data to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Provide regular reports to senior management on account status, market conditions, and business opportunities.
  3. Analyze consumer feedback and market trends to adjust strategies accordingly.


  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  1. Work closely with the marketing, supply chain, and product development teams to align efforts and ensure consistent product supply and quality.
  2. Coordinate with the finance team to manage pricing, invoicing, and payment collection.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in account management, sales, or business development, preferably in the FMCG or food industry.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the Malaysia and Singapore markets, including consumer behavior and retail landscapes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently to Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the food industry.
  • Proficiency in languages relevant to the Malaysia and Singapore markets (e.g., English, Mandarin, Malay)
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics for Malaysia and Singapore.
