Quality and Progression Manager - EDUCATION

Job Purpose:

The Quality and Progression Manager supports the Partner Liaison and Operations Director and the Compliance, Quality and Progression Associate Director to manage existing business partnerships with Rest of World (RoW). It provides progression and welfare support to the Partner Students as required by the contract and provides guidance in ensuring quality assurance is appropriate for Study Group and the local regulations.

This role works seamlessly with the Compliance, Quality and Progression Associate Director, Academic Manager and the Operations Manager for existing business partnerships, with oversight from the Partner Liaison and Operations Director to enable the working model to operate effectively. It provides coaching and BAU advice to a partner delivery team and supports progression processes and student welfare training and induction and guides on at risk students. It supports and facilitates maintaining program quality, and monitoring student progression of partner programmes, such as Bellerbys, DLC, IY1. It supports the UK Quality team to ensure RoW partner quality system is aligned and up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance

· Leads quality assurance for existing partnerships as part of the BAU team to enable the working model to operate effectively, whilst collaborating with the Academic Manager and the Operations Manager.

· Supports and enables the Study Group Quality System to be fully implemented.

· Guides and coaches on quality assurance standards.

· Contributes to continuous improvement of BAU Quality team to ensure RoW partner quality system is aligned and up to date and to enhance program delivery and student experience.

· Conducts updated training to partner on the Quality System.

· Supports the Partner Liaison and Operation Director and the Compliance, Quality and Progression Associate Director to ensure the signed contract outcomes are being delivered.

· Supports all aspects of partner delivery and facilitates a sound student experience and strong student outcomes.

· Supports periodic audits by internal departments and external authorities.

Progression and Student Welfare

· Coaches and provides updated training and induction to progression and welfare staff at delivery partners.

· Advises delivery partner staff about student university applications as part of BAU and works collaboratively with the BAU team and leadership team when the requirements/processes change.

· Supports and facilitates student applications and advises on how to correctly submit via UCAS and ensures key deadlines are met, and coaches the partner to improve their knowledge in this area.

· Manages articulation arrangements with university partners.

· Ensures that documentation relating to student welfare and progression is up to date and in line with the ISC network.

· Provides regular support with partners on at-risk students and guides on checking processes and outcomes.

· Manages safeguarding of students and ensures that safe and healthy work practices are followed and that partnership policies and procedures, relevant work standards and statutory obligations are complied with.

Partnerships

· Builds and maintains effective working relationships with partners.

· BAU contact for existing partner institutions, addressing inquiries and concerns.

· Maintains a constructive relationship with partners and resolves quality and progression issues respectfully.

· Builds and maintains strong and effective internal and external relationships with stakeholders to promote Study Group’s profile.

Continuous Improvement

· Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement and works to identify and implement improvements across operations, systems, processes and methodology.

Organizational Compliance:

The position holder must comply with, role model and hold people accountable to Study Group policies and applicable laws including those in relation, but not limited to: Workplace Health and Safety; Anti-Discrimination and Harassment, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption and those specifically relevant to the position and authority of the role.

Additionally, this role will:

· Contribute to Quality and Compliance reporting as required.

· Support systems and processes that are in place to meet regulations and requirements.

· Support the implementation of an operational risk management plan.

· Cooperate with internal audits and contribute to improvements and developments in system, process and policy to keep abreast of regulatory changes.

· Cooperate with external audits and liaise with relevant bodies.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Qualifications & Training

· Essential: Relevant undergraduate degree in education or business, or similar.

· Essential: Quality Assurance qualification in education sector, or relevant experience.

· Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in business administration or education, or similar.

Experience Required:

· Experience of supporting compliance frameworks and managing quality assurance systems in the education sector.

· Experience of managing student progression systems and identifying at risk students.

· Experience of partnership relationships at senior leadership and middle management levels within organisations.

· Demonstrated political awareness and skilled in navigating complex organisations, with gravitas and interpersonal relationship strengths.

· Experience of the international education sector and different perspectives.

· It is desirable to have experience of successful and profitable international relationships in the education sector.

· Alignment with corporate values and principles of #one team.

Knowledge/Skills:

· Business level language skills in English and Chinese essential, and other languages may be considered.

· Excellent cultural competency in the partner’s culture.

· Awareness of compliance needs in the partner’s country specifically China and other countries (e.g. SE Asia) and of those relevant from the UK and able to understand the relationship with quality assurance and progression.

· Extensive knowledge of admissions systems, such as UCAS.

· Comprehension of quality assurance frameworks and their application with skills and experience.

· Clear understanding of processes used to manage at-risk students.

· Skilled at engaging with parents and students.

· Professional level communication skills, speaking, presenting and writing fluently, with the ability to flex to different audiences.

· Skilled and experienced in presenting business presentations to potential / existing partners.

· Skilled in managing conflict and bringing to closure contentious issues.

· Strong relationship building skills with proven ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

· Proven organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Understanding of cultural considerations of a large tertiary organisation and the wider political environment.

· Motivated, self-directed, committed to continuous improvement, positive and enthusiastic

· Capable of understanding educational products and stakeholder needs such as the community, business, and professional

· Broad knowledge of the international context of higher education and the business, government and industry context in which students/graduates will study, e.g. China, UK, SE Asia, ANZ, USA.
