Job Description
- Coordinate the transport of products from the manufacturing plant to customers and distributors, ensuring deliveries are timely and efficient.
- Build and maintain partnerships, negotiating contracts and rates to control costs and enhance service quality.
- Guarantee that all shipping activities adhere to safety regulations and industry standards.
- Supervise shipping-related inventory levels and manage shipping documentation
- Promptly address any shipping delays or problems, implementing solutions to avoid future disruptions
The Successful Applicant
- Minimally 3-5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG sector
- Possess minimally a diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Strong understanding and experience of safety standards, shipping regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the industry
- Proficiency in logistics software, inventory management systems, and MS Office applications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate between teams and external partners, along with leadership capabilities to manage a team or supervise shipping operations
- Detailed with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle shipping issues and ensure smooth operations
