We are looking for a Shipbroker with dry bulk experience.
Responsibilities:
- Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, charterers, and cargo owners.
Understand client needs and provide expert advice on shipping solutions. - Market Research: Analyze market trends, shipping rates, and port conditions to provide informed recommendations.
Keep abreast of industry developments and changes in regulations. - Negotiations: Negotiate charter parties and other contractual agreements between ship owners and charterers.
Ensure terms are favorable and comply with industry standards. - Documentation and Administration:Prepare and review charter party agreements, bills of lading, and other necessary documentation.
Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and manage paperwork related to the chartering process. - Problem Resolution:Address and resolve issues or disputes that arise during the chartering process.
Provide solutions and advice to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth operations. - Sales and Marketing:Promote the services of ship owners and charterers to potential clients.
Attend industry events and conferences to network and generate business opportunities. - Compliance:Ensure all transactions comply with maritime laws, international regulations, and company policies.
Stay updated on changes in maritime legislation and industry standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: A degree in maritime studies, business, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in shipbroking or a related maritime industry role is advantageous.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of maritime law, shipping operations, and market dynamics.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using industry software and tools.
- Attributes: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
