Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of game development/game art creation projects, from concept to completion, ensuring they align with the company's goals and client expectations.
- Oversee a team of developers, artists, and designers, providing clear direction and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Japanese-speaking clients and chinese speaking vendor, to manage communications, feedback, and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to timelines
- Ensure the highest quality standard are met in all aspects of production, including art assets, gameplay, and user experience.
- Identify potential risks and issues in project execution and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Regularly report project progress to senior management and other stakeholders, providing clear and concise updates.
- Work closely with other departments, such as design, engineering, and marketing, to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with overall company goals.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in the gaming industry, especially in the Japanese market, and incorporate relevant insights into project strategies.
Requirements:
- Degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Art or related field.
- Native or business level fluency in Japanese and strong proficiency in English and Chinese.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in game production, project management, or a related role within the gaming industry, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
- Strong understanding of game development processes, from pre-production to launch, and experience with art creation pipelines.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage client relationships and convey project requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Asana, Hansoft, Confluence).
- A genuine passion for gaming and a deep understanding of what makes games engaging and successful.
