Responsible for the accounting and financial aspects of a portfolio of projects through their life cycle, proactively work with Project Management/Commercial/Procurement team to monitor and analyze financial performance of projects (i.e. costs, revenue, invoicing, collection, etc) against budget/forecast, and overall P&L analysis and reporting for Singapore based entities.
Responsibilities:-
- Month-end close process: Ensure that project-related financial data and other P&L transactions are captured timely, accurately, in compliance with accounting principles and internal controls. Includes inter-company charges for projects, review and update end-of-month journal entries.
- Revenue recognition: Evaluate project milestones, deliverables and contract terms and apply appropriate revenue recognition principles to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare financial reports for projects, provide accurate and timely information on project costs, revenue and profitability. Includes monitoring the financial progress of projects and SG&A, investigate and analyze variances against budget/forecast and provide explanations for any deviations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with project managers to assist with the preparation of budgets and provide financial forecasts based on anticipated costs and revenue.
- Project Cash Flow: Prepare reports for actual project cash flows, work with project managers to forecast project cash flow needs, identify potential cash flow gaps, and coordinate with corporate finance and treasury teams to manage project funding.
- Audit and compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal control procedures. Compile project related information for internal and external auditors/tax advisors and attend to queries, as required.
- Involve in best practices activities to streamline the flow of project-related information and processes to improve productivity, and engagement in various finance digitization and digital transformation projects.
- Any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:-
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
· At least 5-7 years of relevant experience as an accountant or in financial planning & analysis, knowledge of construction accounting principles is a plus.
· Knowledge of SAP S/4 Hana and SAC Planning will be an advantage.
