Job Description:
- On-site Supervision: Oversee day-to-day construction activities on the site, ensuring that work is carried out according to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Coordination: Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow. Ensure that materials and equipment are available and that work proceeds according to schedule.
- Quality Control: Monitor construction quality and ensure that work meets the required standards. Inspect completed work and identify any defects or issues that need rectification.
- Safety Management: Ensure that all on-site activities comply with safety regulations and standards. Conduct safety briefings, monitor safety equipment, and ensure that all workers adhere to safety protocols.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to project managers and senior management on the progress of the project. Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports on site activities, manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Problem-Solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise on-site, including delays, technical problems, or disputes. Work with the team to find effective solutions.
- Site Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, including timesheets, work schedules, material deliveries, and incident reports.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Certifications in safety management (e.g., WSQ) are often preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a site supervisor or in a similar role within the construction industry. Experience in managing construction crews and subcontractors is essential.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and regulations. Familiarity with construction drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Competence in using construction management software and tools.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to work in outdoor and on-site environments, often involving physical activity. Must be prepared for working in all weather conditions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems on-site quickly and effectively.
Additional Qualifications:
- Language Proficiency: Good command of the language used on-site (e.g., English or other local languages).
- Driver's License: Having a valid driver's license can be an advantage, especially for traveling to multiple sites.
