We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Logistics Operations Specialist with specific experience in marine and offshore operations at Singapore ports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and supply chain management, with direct experience communicating with ship captains and crew. Additionally, the candidate must hold a valid Singapore Class 3 driving license. This role requires flexibility, as the employee may need to work odd hours and public holidays due to the 24/7 nature of marine operations and vessel berthing schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marine and Offshore Operations Management: Oversee and manage day-to-day marine and offshore logistics operations at Singapore ports, including scheduling, berth assignments, and coordination with port authorities and offshore facilities.
- Communication with Ship Crews: Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and ship captains and crew. Facilitate effective communication to ensure smooth loading, unloading, and offshore operations.
- Driving Responsibilities: Utilize a valid Singapore Class 3 driving license to operate company vehicles for site visits and boarding ships or offshore facilities when necessary.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to logistics and port operations processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with marine and offshore regulations.
- Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, shipping agents, port authorities, offshore facility operators, and other stakeholders to coordinate shipments, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze logistics and marine/offshore operations data to identify trends, track performance metrics, and prepare reports for management. Use data insights to drive decision-making and process improvements.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, coordinating with warehouse teams and port authorities to ensure accurate inventory records and timely replenishment, including offshore supply needs.
- Vendor and Carrier Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors, carriers, and marine/offshore service providers. Negotiate contracts and monitor performance to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any logistics-related issues or disruptions at the port or offshore, including delays, damages, and discrepancies. Implement corrective actions as needed.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all marine and offshore operations comply with relevant regulations and safety standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in logistics, supply chain management, or a similar role, with specific experience in marine and offshore operations at Singapore ports.
- Strong understanding of marine and offshore logistics, port operations, ship scheduling, and maritime regulations.
- Valid Singapore Class 3 driving license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with ship captains, crew, and offshore facility operators.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
