Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement legal requirements, Singapore Standards, Codes of Practice, and other relevant regulations to ensure compliance and provide clear direction for adherence.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically test emergency response procedures. Organize and conduct CERT audits and emergency response drills.
- Liaise with local authorities on all EHS matters, manage license renewals, and represent the organization in RC/SICA and other relevant meetings.
- Oversee investigations of EHS incidents and non-conformance, ensuring timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct and organize risk assessments, site inspections, industrial hygiene assessments, and environmental sampling. Implement or guide risk reduction and control measures.
- Conduct and organize EHS audits, training sessions, meetings, and promotional programs to increase employee awareness and knowledge.
- Set and manage EHS objectives, targets, and programs to drive continual improvement in safety processes.
- Manage contractors involved in in-house and SDM (Shutdown Maintenance) activities, with a strong focus on Safety Case implementation and mitigative measures for Safety Critical Events (SCE) in Major Hazard Industries (MHI).
- Facilitate effective communication across all levels and functions within the organization.
- Provide support for ad-hoc assignments or projects as directed by management.
- Collaborate with the HSE department to organize the Annual Safety Campaign.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in safety responsibilities within the HSE department
- At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or Chemical plants
- Preferably with experience working on Jurong Island
- Fair knowledge of chemical processes and unit operations
- Possess a relevant Diploma or Bachelor degree in any relevant.
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer with MOM and a Fire Safety Manager (FSM) with SCDF
- Experience with ISO14001 and SS651 (ISO45001) management systems
- Knowledgeable in interpreting P&ID drawings
