GL Accountant
Reports Directly to CFO
Position Summary:
As a GL Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. You will be responsible for managing the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing process, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including GL journal entries and financial reporting.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to assess the performance of various business initiatives and provide insightful commentaries.
- Ensure compliance with local tax and legal regulations by filing statutory, business statistics, and other required returns.
- Collaborate with suppliers, external/internal auditors, and tax agents to ensure accurate tax compliance and adherence to group accounting policies and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS).
- Drive efficiency through cost initiatives and projects, including process automation and documentation.
- Develop a strong understanding of business processes and financial procedures.
- Assist the finance department in formulating and implementing robust internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in GL accounting, with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Prior experience in audit is preferred.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Navision system.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or ACCA equivalent; a qualified CA is preferred.
