Field Support Engineer (L1 Support Technician)

Morgan McKinley is looking for an Field Support Engineer (L1 Support Technician) who will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of production systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and customer satisfaction. The role involves performing system integration tasks, including installation, testing, analysis, and troubleshooting to support the project team in delivering solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 1 support and perform service-related tasks.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective maintenance and support.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues assigned by the team lead.
  • Develop corrective action plans or local workarounds within SLA timelines.
  • Escalate complex issues to Level 2 support as needed.
  • Keep customers informed about the progress of their requests.
  • Maintain IT infrastructure components, including hardware and software.
  • Replace faulty hardware and endpoint devices.
  • Conduct regular site administration tasks, such as endpoint health checks, service restarts, and monthly report submissions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on servers and endpoint devices.
  • Handle backups and restoration tasks, including database backups, log management, and image backups for endpoints, workstations, and servers.
  • Carry out OS patching, antivirus updates, and security patching.
  • Assist with change requests, service deployments, and testing.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certification in IT or related fields.
  • With 1-2 years of post-education IT work experience.
  • Proficiency in Windows desktop operating systems, including Windows 10.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with call tracking and ticket management systems (Autotask preferred).
  • Familiarity with managed services, IT integration, or consulting is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of PC and laptop configuration and administration is beneficial.
  • Must be available for rotating 12-hour shifts.
