Qualifications:
- GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent qualifications (with at least one combined Science subject).
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a science lab assistant in a primary school environment.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge in preparing and setting up science apparatus and materials, particularly in Life Science and Physical Science.
- Ability to interact well with students.
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7.15 a.m. to 4.15 p.m.
- Fridays: 7.15 a.m. to 3.45 p.m.
- Working hours include a 30-minute lunch break.
Note: Remuneration for work on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays can be proposed by the contractor.
Job Scope:
Teaching & Learning Support:
- Prepare science apparatus and equipment for experiments.
- Assist teachers during science experiments and enrichment programs such as the Applied Learning Programme (ALP), E2K, hydroponics, and eco trails.
- Support teachers in preparing resources for science competitions, projects, and science-related co-curricular activities (CCAs).
- Monitor the operations of the Hydroponics System.
- Aid in the preparation of resources for science department events.
- Ensure the safety of the science rooms by following safety guidelines and protocols.
Inventory Management Support:
- Monitor the utilization of science rooms, resources, and apparatus.
- Conduct stock-takes of science equipment, resources, and consumables.
- Check the condition of science apparatus and equipment, and report damaged items for repair or replacement.
- Collate a list of items to be replenished for teaching and learning activities.
- Oversee the loaning and return of science teaching materials by teachers.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the science rooms and the Hydroponics System.
Additional Duties:
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the School Leaders or the Head of Department (HOD) for Science.
