Job Description:
The Vessel IT Development Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support to both the office and vessels, ensuring smooth and efficient IT operations. This role requires a strong technical background, particularly in IT support within the shipping industry, and the ability to manage multiple projects and proposals. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that the Company’s IT Policy is updated and adhered to. Provide day-to-day IT support to end-users within the company. Provide IT support for vessels via remote tools or vessel visits if required. Support and ensure normal IT server operations within the company and vessels. Maintain and update office hardware inventory. Administer the Company's Marine ERP systems. Ensure that backup and replication are done for ERP systems and office servers. Collaborate with other business units on new technological needs or expand uses for existing technologies to increase functionality or efficiency if required. Arrange or conduct IT training for new users or technologies. Coordinate with vendors and service providers when required. Maintain and create user documentation and training materials. Actively explore and deploy new software/hardware, unit standards, policies, and procedures, and effectively manage their implementation.
Qualifications:
· Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent
· Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT support within a shipping company
· Experience working with ERP software is an added advantage
· Basic SQL knowledge to run/apply queries
· Good team player with the ability to work independently with initiative
· Ability to manage multiple projects/proposals
