Job Description
- Responsible for the maintenance of all control systems under the direction of the I&C Supervisor, acting proactively and maintaining a high standard of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, so that they are carried out technically efficiently, in compliance with schedules, MODEC procedures, maintenance philosophy, national and international regulations and standards, ensuring that all control systems are operational and preserved for the assigned unit.
- Carry out or supervise 3rd party employees in all maintenance and inspection related to the Control Systems discipline, in order to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of all plant and machinery in the unit, as well as emergency equipment, thus contributing to the production and revenue target achievement.
- Contribute to an effective response to emergencies on board by being part of the Emergency Response Team, participating in all trainings, simulations and acting properly in a real situation, providing support to reestablish plant safely, in accordance with MODEC's procedures, guidelines, as well as national and international regulations and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with MODEC Permit to Work system, isolation standard being aware about latest revision of PTW and act as Permit user of PTW for the task, or originating the PTWs, if delegated by the I&C Supervisor.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of MdB fleet performance by participating, when requested, RCAs, investigations of NOIs/NODs, HAZID/HAZOPs, following up CAPAs, sharing lessons learned.
- Contribute to enhance MODEC's Preventive Maintenance procedures, by constantly evaluating maintenance activities and seeking improvement opportunities, providing technical input following MODEC's Maintenance Philosophy, manufacturer recommendation, and personnel experience.
- Ensure that Critical functional test (e.g. DCS Safety Proof Test) of the control systems is completed according to MODEC Standard and on time, performing the activity according to the work Order instruction (which is attached in the work Order) and closing the Work Order in CMMS system with all relevant information clearly provided.
- Act proactively to safeguarding MODEC from noncompliance to legal/regulatory requirements by following or ensuring 3rd parties onboard follow MODEC's procedures, internal and external regulations, national and international standards supporting audits and inspections in the unit, and implementing action plans, when required.
- Ensure that all changes are captured in the Control Narrative Document, monitoring and recording all changes in the systems of the facility when the changes are approved through Management of Change procedure.
- Monitor DCS/FCS and other system installed on FPSO ensuring that all related systems are operating correctly and all required data are registered.
- Know, enforce, and ensure full compliance of corporate requirements for safety in installations and services, NR-10, NR-13, NR-30, NR-37, ABNT NBR IEC 60079, ANSI/ISA 5.1, other related statutory, regulatory, flag and class requirements.
- If necessary, support in the activities of inspection of luggage, people and cargo on the disembark from offshore units, in compliance with NORMAM 27 – item 0115, regarding dangerous items handling.

- HSSE: Act in compliance with the corporate HSSEQ Management System Policy, the MODEC Life Saving Rules, and the policies, guides, process standards and work instructions available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Act to promote the preservation of the environment, the health and occupational safety (personnel and their team), the safety of processes, and the preservation of assets in their scale of responsibility.

- Emergency Plan: As per indication on the Training Matrix, Emergency Management Guide and Offshore Emergency Management, available in the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Degree
- bachelor’s degree (Engineering)
Certifications:
- CFT (or CREA for engineers) active and valid is required.
Relevant Experience:
- Previous experience in Offshore Oil & Gas area is a competitive edge.
Software
- Intermediate Office Package knowledge is required.
- Basic CMMS knowledge (SAP preferred) is required
