The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring optimal performance and high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation. This role involves setting clear goals, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback to kitchen staff. The Kitchen Supervisor will also ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment, in line with the restaurant’s standards.
Kitchen Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage kitchen staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, including training staff on proper procedures.
- Oversee kitchen operations to guarantee efficiency and smooth workflow.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock.
- Ensure adherence to recipes and preparation guidelines for consistency and quality.
- Regularly assess food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is well-maintained and in proper working condition.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Collaborate in menu planning and recipe development to enhance offerings.
Kitchen Supervisor Requirements and Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in lieu of educational certiffcate will be considered
- 1-3 years of kitchen management experience
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Valid Basic Food Hygiene certificate
