Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the performance of multiple databases, ensuring operational efficiency, and managing critical incidents. You will work with various database systems, including MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and others, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor various databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Handle critical incidents and coordinate resolutions with the Major Incident Management team.
- Perform routine patching, upgrades, and database backups, ensuring timely recovery.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Troubleshoot database issues, working closely with vendors and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is a motivated and committed database administrator with 3+ years of experience, familiar with at least two databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
Skills/Requirement:
- Familiarity with Linux/AIX/Windows OS and basic system commands.
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and backup strategies.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays for 24/7 support.
- Strong problem-solving skills, team player, and commitment to continuous learning.
