Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Lead to manage a team of career advisors. This role also involves student and industry engagement for both undergraduate (UG) and Master of Science (MSc) programmes, overseeing a student population of approximately 5,000. Reporting to the Head of BIZCareers, the Team Lead will be responsible for strategic industry and alumni partnership management, leading a high-performing team, enhancing career readiness of students, and ensuring data-driven decision-making and budget management.


Leadership and Management

  • Provide effective leadership and direction to a team of career advisors
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and supportive team environment in a fast-paced setting
  • Lead team meetings and professional development sessions

Strategic Industry and Partnership Management

  • Identify key sectors to focus based on economic and job market analysis
  • Focus on internships leading to job conversions and quality job opportunities
  • Deepen relationships with top companies in each sector

Career Readiness of Students

  • Lead the organization of major career activities and events
  • Oversee the provision of personalized career coaching and advisory services
  • Develop and implement career development programmes tailored to the needs of undergraduate and early postgraduate students

Data-Driven Reporting and Strategic Decision-Making

  • Lead the collection, collation, and storage of data for analysis and decision-making
  • Ensure systematic and accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate effective budgeting and financial management for workshops and events

Strategic and Effective Stakeholder Communication and Engagement

  • Lead discussions and resolve operational issues with programme offices
  • Present and communicate effectively with academic directors and the deanery
  • Continuously evaluate and improve communication and engagement methods with students

Qualifications

  • Minimum degree holder in a relevant field, preferably in business management-related specialization. A postgraduate degree is a plus
  • Coaching and/or training certification has an added advantage
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in career services, career counselling or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role
  • Proven track record of working with undergraduate, early postgraduate students and a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and respond to changing market conditions
  • Excellent strategic planning, organizational, project management skills

(Appointment job grade will commensurate with the selected candidate's experience)
