Role Summary/Purpose To carry out engineering designs in the primary plant discipline for AIS/GIS/Renewable Energy/FACTs projects and tenders in accordance with the project specifications, agreed timeframes. To validate the correct implementation of these designs by participation to factory FAT and site installation / testing supporting.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan for overall engineering work for the projects assigned, create master drawing list for project.
- Create Distribution of Responsibility for a project involve different parties.
- Based on the different nature of projects, Propose Design strategy with execution plan.
- Develop Single line Diagram for Primary Electrical Equipment.
- Design substation building and equipment layout for GIS substation.
- Design layout and sections for AIS substation, comply with safety clearance, transportation clearance, working clearance according to international standards.
- System Integration of equipment for Substation system.
- Grounding calculation for grounding resistivity, cable size, step, and touch voltage base on soil resistivity test; and perform groundingsystem design for equipment, cable support, and all accessories.
- Ensure safety design of personnel in the substation.
- Cable supporting system design, Underground cable conduit bank design, Cable Route design and HV power cable system design.
- Good knowledge about Single‐point Bonding, both -ends bonding, cross bonding system for HV cable.
- Good knowledge about HV cable construction and specification.
- Lightning protection design for Air Insulated Switchgear and building.
- Cable size calculation, Current rating calculation, Short current calculation.
- Calculation of Short Current Force and Mechanical Force on equipment.Calculation for wind force, seismic force, tensile force, pinch force, on overhead conductor and equipment conductor.
- Prepare equipment technical data sheet, like Transformer, GIS, HV
- Circuit Breaker HV Disconnector, Surge Arrester, HV Power Cable, Shunt reactor, STATCOM, SVC, Harmonic Filters.
- Good knowledge about all related equipment and devices.
- Able to choose the correct primary equipment base on customer requirement and practice.
- Interface and coordinate with civil contractor for Equipment foundationdesign, Building Architecture design, Room size define based on equipment installation clearance, Cable trench, Cable conduit, cable tunnel and Manhole design.
- Interface and review the documents from equipment factory.
- Interface and coordinate with Project Manager, Project Engineering Manager, Customer’s Technical Team, Supplier’s Technical Team to ensure quality engineering work and engineering schedule.
Qualifications/ Requirements
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
- At least 2 years of related experience in AIS/GIS/Renewable Energy/FACTs for Primary Plant Design
- Strong written & spoken communication skills in English and Chinese inview of projects & countries coverage.
